Overnight on November 7, Russian forces carried out a triple attack on a Naftogaz Group oil and gas facility located in central Ukraine. As a result of the strikes, significant infrastructure damage was recorded at the enterprise, triggered by an explosion and a subsequent large-scale fire.

Aftermath of the Night Strike and Fire Suppression

According to the state company's press service, critical equipment sustained major damage due to the hostile shelling. A large-scale fire broke out on the industrial site, requiring the deployment of emergency services. Thanks to the prompt actions of specialized departments, the threat of the fire spreading was contained.

Acting Chairman of the Naftogaz Executive Board Serhiy Fedorenko confirmed that there were no casualties or injuries as a result of the incident. All enterprise personnel were evacuated in a timely manner to a safe zone before the active phase of the fire began. The company management expressed gratitude to the State Emergency Service and their own specialists for coordinated work.

Context of Regular Attacks on Energy Infrastructure

The current incident continues a series of targeted attacks on Ukraine's gas production and energy infrastructure recorded over recent weeks. For instance, on the morning of October 21, an enemy drone hit one of the production units at a Naftogaz site in the Kharkiv region, causing local damage.

Similar incidents occurred in mid-autumn as well. Specifically, on the night of October 15, the company's gas production infrastructure in the Poltava region was targeted, and a few days prior, on October 12, a similar attack was recorded in the Kharkiv region, where critical equipment also burned.

Significance of Naftogaz Facilities and Safety Measures

Regular strikes on fuel and energy sector enterprises pose serious challenges to the stable functioning of the national economy and the provision of resource security. The energy sector management emphasizes that despite ongoing risks and damage to the material and technical base, specialized services promptly restore technological processes.

The successful evacuation of personnel during the nighttime incident on November 7 indicates well-rehearsed safety algorithms at strategic facilities. Nevertheless, the scale of destruction requires extensive restoration work to maintain the uninterrupted operation of the gas transmission and production systems.
