Top NATO military commander General Alexus Grynkewich stated that the United States continues to supply air defense missiles for Patriot systems to Ukraine «without delay», along with weapons packages funded by European partners under the PURL initiative. According to RBC-Ukraine citing Bloomberg, he announced this during a public speech.
«Deliveries are continuing»
According to Grynkewich, the latest shipment was received literally last week. The commander declined to disclose the quantity and types of missiles being transferred, but emphasized that the process is not stopping. «Everything has been delivered; in fact, we received a shipment just within the last week. I won't get into information about the quantity or types of missiles, but deliveries are continuing», he stated.
Nothing delayed under PURL
Separately, Grynkewich noted that nothing included in the «PURL package paid for by European allies» has been delayed. He also reported that every single request for the transfer of weapons to a third party submitted to the US government has been approved. «We continue to work on filling future assistance packages. We are putting significant effort into this», the NATO commander added.
Kyiv's appeal to partners
The statement came against the backdrop of Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara's appeal to international partners to consider transferring 10% of their own interceptor stockpiles to Ukraine. Specifically, this concerns missiles for Patriot and IRIS-T air defense systems, the procurement of which Kyiv is financing through a European Union loan.
Expected Pentagon signature
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Ukraine has been waiting for almost a month for Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth's signature on the supply of missiles for Patriot and NASAMS air defense systems. According to the head of state, Kyiv plans to hold negotiations with Washington to resolve this issue. Thus, the public rhetoric about «delay-free» supplies from NATO coexists with Ukrainian statements regarding formally uncompleted procedures for certain arms batches.
