International holding company NEQSOL Holding, which successfully completed the acquisition of the state-owned United Mining and Chemical Company (UMCC) in November 2024 for nearly UAH 4 billion, is actively negotiating with leading financial institutions. The company's main goal at this stage is to implement effective war risk insurance mechanisms to protect large-scale investments in Ukrainian mining assets.

Negotiations with International Financial Operators

According to Volodymyr Lavrenchuk, Regional Director of NEQSOL Holding B. V., speaking at the United by Mining industry conference, the organization aims for close cooperation with reputable international financial institutions. In particular, the holding is in direct negotiations with the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), one of the largest players on the global financial market. According to the top manager, obtaining such guarantees will significantly expand the geography and volume of capital investments in the Ukrainian economy.

Production Challenges and Regulatory Environment

In addition to investment security issues, the holding's management openly highlights other pressing challenges facing business in today's realities. Specifically, following the completion of the UMCC privatization process, the company faced the need to adapt to changing regulatory conditions. Additional factors affecting the operational activities of mining and chemical enterprises remain an acute shortage of qualified personnel in the labor market, as well as critically high electricity costs.

Plans to Expand Resource Base

Despite existing economic and logistical difficulties, NEQSOL's investment strategy remains ambitious. Previously, the holding officially announced its substantive interest in another major state-owned asset—the Demurino Mining and Processing Plant. Management views this deal as a logical step to further strengthen its positions and expand its own resource base in titanium raw material extraction, which requires a reliable financial safety net and guaranteed state or international insurance.
