A significant personnel change has occurred within the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Colonel Andriy Kroka now leads the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Anna of Kiev. He has replaced Valeriy Luchanov on this post, who was arrested and placed in custody as part of a criminal investigation.
The change in leadership took place during a solemn ceremony held on the unit's territory. The main event of the ceremony was the official presentation of the Battle Flag to the new commander. The ritual was conducted by Colonel Dmytro Drozdenko, Deputy Commander of the 21st Army Corps for Personnel Psychological Support.
Symbolism and Faith in the Future
For the personnel of the brigade, known as the "Knights of the Royal Lily," this event became an important milestone in restoring the identity and reputation of the unit. During the ceremony, the servicemen were commended for their courage, heroism in defending state sovereignty, and high professionalism amidst the ongoing Russian aggression. The fighters received departmental awards from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Accepting the flag, Colonel Kroka emphasized that this was a great honor for him. In his speech, he urged the personnel to carry the flag with honor, despite the severe trials.
"This flag symbolizes your resilience, courage, and indestructibility. We will carry it forward with honor, into our future. Despite all the trials and fierce battles in the Pokrovsk direction, the brigade continues to fight, protect our country, and bring victory closer," the new commander stated.
Kroka also expressed confidence that together they would be able to restore the brigade's good name, which suffered during recent scandals.

The change in command occurred against the backdrop of a high-profile investigation that captured public attention. The reason for the inspection was the discovery of the bodies of two civilian men in the Kyiv region. Law enforcement agencies suspected soldiers of the 155th Brigade in the murder.
Immediately after the investigation began, former brigade commander Valeriy Luchanov made his first statement to journalists, but shortly thereafter, the court selected a preventive measure in the form of detention. The trial of the former commander has already begun, and the details of the case, including the circumstances of the murder of two brothers, continue to be investigated.
