Ukraine intends to continue increasing strike and technological pressure on Russia. The focus is on expanding the scale of long-range strikes and implementing new solutions for air defense. This was stated by the Acting Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Yevhen Yermak, after a meeting with the new Commander-in-Chief of the country's Armed Forces, Mykhailo Drapat.
Unity of Goals and Honesty in Dialogue
According to Yermak, the key principle of interaction between the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff will be complete openness. "We agreed to be honest with each other, resolving all disagreements in the interests of Ukrainian warriors. Together, we will be able to fulfill the President's assignment and ensure conditions for the maximum effectiveness of our Defense Forces," emphasized the Acting Minister.
This approach is designed to eliminate bureaucratic barriers and accelerate decision-making, which is critical for the army's combat readiness.
Technologies and Access to Means of Destruction
To implement the strategy of increasing pressure, it is planned to ensure the development of military technologies and guarantee stable access for combat units to effective means of destruction. This includes both the modernization of existing systems and the integration of new developments capable of changing the course of hostilities.
Common Vision for the Future of the Defense Forces
Yermak noted that he and Drapat share a unified position regarding the development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "We also discussed the vision of the future with the Commander-in-Chief. We have a common position on the development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy supported our vision," he added.
This means that the strategic course laid down by the President will be consistently implemented at the level of operational management and tactical planning.
Practical Steps Towards Peace on Ukraine's Terms
Currently, the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff are actively developing specific measures aimed at forcing Russia into a long-term peace — but exclusively on Ukraine's terms. These steps include both military and diplomatic tools, synchronized with international partners.
Recall that today, May 25, Volodymyr Zelenskyy officially signed a decree appointing Mykhailo Drapat as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Previously, this position was held by Oleksandr Syrskyi, who, along with the former Head of the General Staff, Andriy Hnatov, left their posts. Their further fate remains a subject of discussion in Ukrainian media.
