The third-generation Mazda CX-5 crossover has officially debuted on the Ukrainian automotive market. Compared to the previous generation, the vehicle has grown significantly in size, featuring a completely redesigned interior and modern technological equipment that meets current automotive trends.
Dimensions and Body Changes
The new model has noticeably increased in size. The wheelbase grew by 115 mm to 2815 mm, and the overall body length also increased by 115 mm to 4690 mm. The car's width is now 1860 mm (+15 mm), while the height has increased to 1695 mm (+20 mm). Thanks to these revised proportions, the manufacturer made the door openings wider, significantly improving passenger entry and exit comfort.
Interior and Technological Equipment
The car's interior has undergone revolutionary changes. The traditional emblem on the steering wheel has been replaced by a stylish brand name inscription. The instrument cluster is now fully digital, featuring a 10.25-inch display. Climate control management is fully integrated into the Mazda Connect multimedia system, with a central touch screen of 12.9 or 15.6 inches depending on the trim level. Available equipment also includes a panoramic roof, a head-up display, and a premium Bose audio system.
Trim Levels and Prices in Ukraine
In the Ukrainian market, the model is offered in five trim levels: ORIGIN, ADVENTURE, PRIME, HOMURA Black, and HOMURA Tan. All versions are powered by a 2.5-liter gasoline engine producing 188 horsepower. The base ORIGIN trim starts at 1.55 million hryvnias, while top-end versions reach 2.05 million hryvnias. Buyers will need to pay an extra 130,000 to 140,000 hryvnias for the i-Activ AWD all-wheel-drive system.
Controversial Data
While Ukrainian specialized media focus on the launch of the third-generation crossover with an expanded set of configurations and local prices, some international analytical sources note a high surge in demand for the model in the domestic Japanese market, exceeding the automaker's initial forecasts. In addition, the Japanese brand is concurrently developing a lineup of electric cars and hybrids with Chinese partners, though the Ukrainian premiere specifically concerns the classic gasoline version.
