A night attack on Kamianske in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast claimed the lives of four people, with five others injured. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Hanza, according to RBC-Ukraine. The incident occurred against the backdrop of intensified pressure on the region and became one of the heaviest in recent days.
Casualties and the condition of the injured
According to Hanza, three of the injured have been hospitalized, including a 30-year-old woman who is in intensive care. Medical personnel are providing all necessary assistance to the victims. The confirmed number of deaths at the time of publication stands at four.
The course of the attack and Air Force warnings
Before the strike, the Ukrainian Air Force had warned of a fast-moving target heading toward Dnipro, and soon clarified that there were several targets at once, some of which were headed specifically for Kamianske. According to the administration, it was these targets that struck an industrial enterprise in the city.
Diplomatic context: the question of an air ceasefire
Still that night, it became known that Kyiv was awaiting Moscow's response regarding a possible ceasefire in the air during diplomatic meetings. A source in the President's Office noted that such a practice of temporary truces had been used previously during negotiations, and that a decision on whether Russia had agreed to such terms this time was expected that same evening.
The situation in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast has been under intensified pressure in recent days. On September 2 alone, at least two residents of Dnipro were killed in an attack on the city, and the strike damaged the food warehouses of one of the retail chains. Kamianske became yet another point where strikes on enterprises resulted in human casualties.
