Nova Poshta Branch No. 6 Destroyed and Sorting Depot Damaged in Kyiv: What Happens to Customers' Parcels

In the night of September 24, as a result of an enemy attack on the Kyiv region, Nova Poshta Branch No. 6 was destroyed in the capital, and the company's sorting depot was also damaged. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a post by the Nova Poshta press service on Telegram. The company emphasized that "the aftermath of the strike is still being addressed," and published photos of the damage for customers and the operator's employees.

According to the operator's press service, the strikes on the Kyiv region in the night of September 24 led to the destruction of one of the branches in the capital — specifically No. 6 — and damage to the sorting depot. This means that both a customer pickup point and the internal parcel-processing infrastructure were in the impact zone, potentially affecting the flows of parcels that were being sorted at the time of the attack.

What happens to customers' parcels: relocation and compensation

Nova Poshta reported that the surviving parcels are already being moved to another location to preserve them and continue processing. Customers were informed that the number and address of the new branch would be communicated separately. The company also stated that it will compensate customers for the declared value of shipments destroyed as a result of the attack — that is, reimbursement will be made based on the declared value, not the actual market price of the contents.

Backup logistics to minimize delays

To reduce the incident's impact on delivery times, the operator has activated backup logistics. According to the company, this should minimize possible delays in delivering shipments that would have passed through the damaged branch and sorting depot. Customers were reminded that up-to-date information on the status of their shipments can be obtained through the company's official channels.

Context: changes to the storage model and rules during air raids

The incident comes against the backdrop of Nova Poshta's earlier changes to its shipment storage model in order to withstand Russian strikes. Previously, the rules for operating facilities and the conditions for customers during air raids in Ukraine were also changed. Thus, the attack on Branch No. 6 and the sorting depot became yet another test for the operator's logistics infrastructure amid ongoing enemy strikes on the capital and the region.
