Russian occupiers struck a Nova Poshta terminal in Odesa Oblast with a jet-powered drone. According to the company and confirmed by Ukrainian media, two people were injured as a result of the attack. Damage to infrastructure, smoke, and the aftermath of a fire were recorded at the scene, with damaged elements of sorting equipment and transport infrastructure scattered across the site.
Course of the attack and aftermath
The enemy used a "Geran"-type jet-powered drone for the strike. The attack on the terminal triggered a fire and damaged elements of sorting and warehouse equipment. Photos from the scene show burnt-out structures, smoke, traces of firefighting, as well as damaged red sorting modules characteristic of Nova Poshta logistics facilities. The company confirmed the strike and stated that it continues to operate despite attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Casualties and communication with customers
Two people were injured as a result of the attack: a driver of the company's carrier partner and an employee of a contractor company. Nova Poshta stated that it is in contact with the injured and is providing them with everything they need. Separately, the company informed customers about the fate of shipments that may have been affected by the strike.
Compensation and continued operations
Nova Poshta stated that it will compensate the declared value of damaged parcels. Representatives of the company will contact each affected customer individually to clarify the details of the reimbursement. The current status of a specific parcel can be checked in the Nova Poshta mobile app or on the company's website. The company emphasized that it continues to operate, since "behind every delivered parcel are people, businesses, production facilities, hospitals, volunteers, and the entire country, which must move forward."
Context: repeated strikes on the facility
It is worth recalling that on August 31, Russian forces had already attacked this same Nova Poshta terminal in Odesa Oblast: the strike triggered a fire, the innovative terminal was destroyed and was beyond repair, and the key European-standard sorting line was destroyed, while no workers were injured. The very next day, on September 1, Russia struck the same facility again, causing another fire to break out there. The current attack is yet another episode of deliberate pressure on the region's civilian logistics infrastructure.
