Night attack on Sumy
In the night of August 28, 2026, as a result of a massive Russian attack, the Nova Poshta sorting center in Sumy was destroyed. According to available data, the enemy dropped four guided KAB aerial bombs on the company's terminal. The strikes led to the destruction of the sorting infrastructure; fortunately, all employees who were on the premises survived. The incident became one of the most destructive for Ukraine's logistics network in recent times.
Scale of damage and compensation promise
In addition to the terminal itself, three of the company's trucks were damaged as a result of the KABs falling. As of publication, the assessment of the attack's consequences is ongoing, so the final figures on destroyed structures and lost cargo may be revised. Nova Poshta stated that it will compensate customers for the full declared value of damaged shipments and will contact each affected customer to provide details of the reimbursement.

Despite a series of attacks on logistics facilities, Nova Poshta states that it is continuing its operations. The company asks customers to track the current status of their shipments in the mobile app and on the official website, emphasizing that the service is functioning in normal mode, except in the zones directly affected by the strikes.

Earlier, in early August 2026, a company sorting center in Kyiv was destroyed with cluster munitions, in which three people were killed. These events indicate the systematic nature of the attacks on civilian logistics infrastructure.
