On the night of 28 August 2026, Russian forces struck the warehouse facilities of 'Nova Poshta' in the Belohorodka community of the Kyiv region. This was reported by Anton Ovsiienko, head of the Belohorodka village council, on his Facebook page, according to RBC-Ukraine. According to him, the attack damaged not only the postal operator's warehouses but also a nearby production facility in Sviatopetrivske.

Three hits on a single location

The key feature of the night attack was that the enemy did not stop at a single strike. After the first hit, when a large-scale fire had already broken out at the site, two further strikes were delivered on the same location. As a result, the 'Nova Poshta' warehouse infrastructure in the Belohorodka community took three hits in a single night. According to local authorities, the repeated strikes came at a moment when the rescue services were already working to extinguish the fire.

Repeated strikes during firefighting

According to Ovsiienko, almost an hour after the first hit, when the units were already putting out the fire, two more strikes were delivered on the same location. The specialists, he said, managed to move to a safer location. The State Emergency Service units, the local fire brigade, the police and the municipal services were working at the scene. The head of the community was personally on site and strongly urged residents not to approach the strike zone due to the real danger of repeated attacks.

Authorities' response and restrictions for residents

Due to significant smoke, residents of Sviatopetrivske and nearby areas were asked to close their windows and not to go outside unless absolutely necessary. In addition, on 28 August traffic was temporarily restricted on part of Kyivska Street in the direction of Boyarka, as well as on parts of Industriialna Street and Chornovyla Street in Sviatopetrivske. These measures were linked both to the aftermath of the strikes and to the need to ensure passage for emergency services.

Wider context: massive attack on logistics and other regions

The night attack on the Belohorodka community was part of a broader strike on the logistics infrastructure of the Kyiv region. According to available data, on the night of 28 August the distribution centers of the retail chains 'Fara', 'Dom Ihrushok' (Toy House) and Comfy were damaged or destroyed. Earlier, on the evening of 27 August, it was reported that after the first night strike the region came under a further 28 repeated attacks, during which rescuers continued to extinguish large-scale fires under the threat of new shelling. Strikes also hit other regions: at noon on 28 August a drone attacked a hypermarket in the Osnova district of Kharkiv, killing one person and injuring five others. According to the Air Force, from 07:00 on 28 August Russia launched around 140 strike drones at Ukraine, more than 100 of them jet-powered.
