Former Ukrainian Ambassador to the USA Olena Stefanyshyn commented on the situation surrounding law enforcement actions against her. In her statement published on Facebook, the former official called for relying on the law and facts, rather than information noise.
Procedural actions do not mean guilt
Stefanyshyn noted that questions regarding the actions of law enforcement officers have been active in the media field since the beginning of her diplomatic term. She emphasized that any procedural steps are part of the legitimate work of the system, but do not indicate established guilt.
"I treat these events calmly and without unnecessary emotions, and the noise around this story is more like a storm in a glass of water," the former diplomat stated.
Transparency regarding real estate
The former ambassador paid special attention to the issue of real estate, which became the reason for close public attention. Stefanyshyn reminded that more than a year ago she had already publicly and in detail commented on this issue.
According to her, immediately after the first publications, she herself provided journalists with all necessary documents regarding the apartment in question. "I had nothing to hide then, and I have nothing to hide now," she emphasized.
Readiness to answer in Ukraine
Stefanyshyn stated that she has dedicated more than ten years to serving the state, but her diplomatic mission across the ocean is over. She returned to Ukraine to personally answer all questions.
"Distance will be neither protection nor justification. I will do what I must: calmly and according to the law, I will defend my position. I have no doubt about the result," she assured.
