The first set started nervously. Oliynykova made a mistake at the beginning, letting her opponent take the lead with a score of 0:2. However, the Ukrainian quickly adjusted, winning three games in a row and seizing the initiative (3:2). But the more experienced 30-year-old Sherif did not allow her opponent to stay in the lead. The Egyptian took four games in a row and closed the set on her serve from the first set point.
The second set went even faster. The decisive moment was the fourth game, when Sherif took a break point on Oliynykova's serve, taking the lead with a score of 3:1. After that, the Ukrainian could not return to the fight, losing the set with a score of 1:6.

This defeat was the first for Oleksandra Oliynykova in four matches against Mayar Sherif. The Egyptian tennis player continued her impressive winning streak, which now stands at nine matches in a row. For Oliynykova, this tournament became her second semi-final in her career at the Tour level — previously she reached this stage in February at the tournament in Cluj-Napoca.
Despite the failure in Iasi, Oliynykova maintains her position in the WTA rankings (52nd place) and continues to demonstrate a high level of play, which is confirmed by her regular entry into the semi-finals of WTA 250 category tournaments.
