The State Enterprise "Document" has officially announced a temporary suspension of citizen intake at "Passport Service" offices. This restriction comes into effect on September 28, 2026, and will last until the end of the month. According to official reports, the decision is driven by scheduled technical maintenance aimed at upgrading the agency's infrastructure.
Operational limits and schedule
Despite the halt in processing new applications, the issuance of previously processed documents will continue as usual. The "Document" enterprise emphasized that citizens whose documents are ready for pickup may collect them according to the operating hours of their local branch.
Status of electronic queue appointments
For those who have already scheduled an appointment, the agency clarified that all entries in the electronic queue remain valid. Specialists from the enterprise promise to contact each applicant individually to arrange a new date and time for their visit. Users are encouraged to remain calm and wait for a call or notification from the staff.
Technical malfunctions
Concurrently, the State Migration Service (SMS) of Ukraine reported limited access to its information and telecommunications systems. This is due to a technical failure in the equipment of the communication operator responsible for data transmission channels. As a result, the official SMS website is temporarily down, affecting online service delivery until the completion of restoration works, scheduled for September 30, 2026.
