Starting October 1, 2026, the state-owned Ukreximbank officially ceases servicing pension and social payments. This change affects a significant number of citizens who received their funds through this financial institution and requires them to take prompt action to ensure uninterrupted pension accruals.
Algorithm for Changing Bank Details for Pensioners
Beneficiaries must update their bank details as soon as possible. To do this, the pensioner should choose a new financial institution from the official list of authorized banks cooperating with the state. A free social or pension account must be opened in the selected bank to obtain IBAN details.
Submitting an Application to the Pension Fund of Ukraine
After obtaining a new account, it is necessary to notify the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFUI). This can be done in two convenient ways: remotely via the official PFUI electronic services web portal using a qualified electronic signature, or personally by visiting any convenient service center of the fund.
What Happens If You Do Not Change Banks on Time
There is no need to worry about losing funds completely: payments are not canceled and will be credited strictly on schedule. In cases where a citizen fails to submit new details independently, the money will be automatically redirected through JSC Ukrposhta, where it can be picked up at a branch or delivered by a mail carrier.Impact of FOP (Sole Proprietor) Status on Pension Payments
Alongside the banking changes, the PFUI reminded citizens of the rules for retaining allowances when registering as a sole proprietor (FOP). Business registration itself does not reduce future pensions, as paying the single social contribution forms the necessary insurance record. However, such pensioners are transferred to the category of working pensioners, which may affect certain supplements.
