The Pension Fund of Ukraine explained the rules for accounting household incomes when granting housing subsidies, including alimony calculation and income assessment periods.

Pensioners from occupied territories must inform the PFU about no payments from Russia, otherwise pensions will stop. Online, video, and mail options are available.

Opening an FOP does not automatically strip the right to a subsidy, but the PFU accounts for conditional income for simplified taxpayers regardless of actual business profit.

After the death of a pensioner with special merits to Ukraine, a supplement of 20 to 40% of the subsistence minimum is received only by non-working family members. The clarification is based on the law on pensions for special merits.

The Pension Fund of Ukraine clarified the key difference between the work record and the insurance record: for granting an old-age pension since 2004, it is not the very fact of work that is taken into account, but the payment of insurance contributions.

Attorney Olga Khomich explained in which cases the PFU is entitled to suspend a pension for a Ukrainian abroad, and in which cases it is obliged to resume payment without any time limit. The Supreme Court consistently confirms pensioners' right to a pension regardless of place of residence.

IDP housing assistance continues to be paid on the 15th and 28th: 3,000 hryvnias to children and persons with disabilities, 2,000 — to others. Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 709 has strengthened control: in case of data discrepancies in the registers, payments are automatically suspended.

The Pension Fund of Ukraine has clarified that citizens aged 60+ who do not have the right to a retirement pension can still receive a housing subsidy if they have 15 years of insurance record and received social assistance for an underprivileged family during the reference period.

The PFU clarified that fighters for Ukraine's independence in the 20th century receive a separate pension for special merits: from March 1, 2026 it amounts to 5,667.51 UAH and is reviewed annually.

The PFU confirmed: mothers of children with disabilities and some Ukrainian women can apply for an early pension at 50 with a record of at least 15 years. By 1 October 2026, an application can also be submitted for a lump-sum benefit for Independence Day.

Pensioners in Ukraine can transfer payments from post to a bank card by submitting a single online application via the PFU portal. Meanwhile, Ukreximbank clients will automatically switch to Ukrposhta service from October 1, 2026.
