Vladimir Putin has once again commented on the reasons for the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukrainian territory. According to the Russian leader, Moscow did not initiate military action but was forced to respond to aggression from Kyiv.
According to information disseminated via the Russian Telegram channel "SMOTRI" and republished by RBC-Ukraine, Putin stated: "We did not start any war, we responded to the actions of Ukraine, which unleashed hostilities with the assistance of the West".
Attempt to shift responsibility
These statements are yet another example of the Kremlin's attempt to shift responsibility for the unleashed war onto Ukraine and Western countries. The Russian leader continues to insist on the version that the actions of his army are exclusively defensive and forced.
However, the reality on the front lines and in international politics is unfolding differently. In recent months, there has been a significant change in the situation surrounding the Russian leadership. The successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and regular strikes on military objects inside Russia are creating a toxic atmosphere for the Kremlin.
