Events in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region once again confirm that actions by Russian military units specializing in strikes against civilian infrastructure are meeting a fierce response from Ukraine's Defense Forces. July 23 marked the day when the elite Russian unit 'Rubikon,' known for its unmanned attacks, suffered significant losses.
Attack in Dniprohirske
According to data obtained by RBK-Ukraine from an informed source within the unit, the operation was carried out by agents of 'Budanova's Units.' The incident occurred precisely at 10:00 in the city of Dniprohirske. Ukrainian special forces used the tactic of remotely detonating a high-explosive charge, allowing them to deliver a strike with high precision while minimizing risks to the operators themselves.
The outcome of the operation proved fatal for the group of Russian operators: three pilots were liquidated, and a fourth was wounded. According to representatives of the Ukrainian unit, this crew had been terrorizing the civilian population of Zaporizhzhia for a long time, carrying out indiscriminate drone attacks. "Revenge has come to them, and it will come to every Russian war criminal," noted the special unit.
Confirmation of Facts and Context
Information about the successful strike against the 'Rubikon' members is confirmed not only by official statements but also by intercepted communications of Russian servicemen. This event is not an isolated case. Recently, 'Budanova's Units' have demonstrated high efficiency in neutralizing key figures of the Russian military machine.
Just a few days ago, another individual involved in war crimes was eliminated in the Zaporizhzhia region — Roman Vnukov, known by the callsign 'Batman.' Previously, the unit also liquidated Russian military engineer Andrey Tisarev, who provided logistics and infrastructure for the Russian aggression.
'Rubikon' Center in the Crosshairs
The 'Rubikon' unit remains one of the priority targets for Ukraine's Defense Forces. On the night of March 18, long-range drones of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) struck the base of this secret center for unmanned technologies in occupied Donetsk. Even earlier, on February 10, the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out a series of strikes on military facilities both in occupied territories and deep inside Russia, hitting a drone control point belonging to 'Rubikon.'
These actions demonstrate a systematic approach to neutralizing the infrastructure that allows Russian troops to launch attacks on civilian objects. The situation is exacerbated by the fact that among Russian military personnel undergoing training, there may be drone operators prepared with the participation of foreign partners, including China.
