Upon the conclusion of the current war, Ukraine will be able to successfully export not only defense technologies and finished products, but also unique combat experience and expertise. The German defense concern Rheinmetall expects a significant entry of the Ukrainian miltech sector into global markets, given the high value of competencies acquired during the full-scale confrontation.
A New Level of Global Integration
According to Oleksandr Kulakovskyi, head of the Digital Systems division representative office of the German concern Rheinmetall, modern Europe perceives Ukraine as one of the key suppliers of not just material products, but advanced combat operations experience. This resource was acquired at the cost of colossal efforts and human losses, which European partners, actively expanding their presence in the Ukrainian market, fully realize.
Rheinmetall's Flexibility and Investment Prospects
The Rheinmetall representative emphasized that his concern stands out as one of the most flexible and agile major European players to first enter Ukraine. The company has already established a joint venture on Ukrainian territory, systematically develops its divisions, and provides comprehensive support. In the expert's opinion, Ukraine is obligated to monetize its most severe experience as effectively as possible, turning it into a strategic asset in the international arena.
Analogies with the IT Sector and Future Challenges
Comparing the prospects of the domestic defense industry with the pre-war development of the Ukrainian IT industry, which held leading global positions, Kulakovskyi noted the highest qualification level of local specialists. Information systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, and technological solutions in modern warfare are forming a new generation of world-class personnel. Nevertheless, as noted during specialized discussions, bureaucratic difficulties in obtaining state permits still significantly restrain the entry of Ukrainian companies into external markets, although many players are already ready to invest in capacities abroad.
