The nature of hostilities on the air front is changing. Russian command is revising its approach to striking Ukrainian territory, betting on saturating the enemy's airspace. This was stated by the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, during a TV marathon broadcast.
According to the officer, the aggressor is actively increasing the number of air attack weapons used. This concerns not only traditional ballistic missiles but also attack drones. Pletenchuk emphasized that for the Russian side, the tactic of "overwhelming by numbers" remains the only available tool of pressure.
Saturation Tactics and Lack of Innovation
"As always, they rely on quantity. This is the only tactic available to the Russians. Yes, there are more jet-powered 'Shaheds', but the enemy is changing tactics in another way — by increasing the means of attack," the Navy representative commented on the situation.
The expert noted that Russian military forces find it difficult to come up with any fundamentally new tactical or technical methods. Instead of seeking innovations, Moscow prefers to increase the density of attacks, attempting to overload Ukraine's air defense systems.
In response, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to hold the maritime direction, using a comprehensive approach: a combination of interceptor drones, air defense systems, and coastal defense.
Tragedy in Kyiv Region
The result of the escalation has been new casualties among the civilian population. Today during the day, Russian occupiers launched a ballistic strike on the Kyiv region. The most significant damage was inflicted on the Bucha district.
Preliminary data indicates that 10 people were killed as a result of the attack. About 100 civilians were injured with varying degrees of severity. This highlights the high lethality of modern munitions and the difficulty of protecting cities from high-precision strikes.
Scale of the Night Attack
During the night leading up to the current day, the Russian army made a massive attempt to breach air defenses. According to Ukrainian security forces, the attack involved the launch of five missiles and 180 attack drones.
Ukraine's air defense forces destroyed the vast majority of aerial targets, preventing catastrophic consequences. However, it was not possible to completely avoid hits, which confirms the effectiveness of the enemy's strategy of mass attacks.
