Russian forces have carried out another insidious strike against Ukraine's infrastructure, targeting an Ukrzaliznytsia enterprise in Zaporizhzhia. Despite constant threats and the complex security situation in the region, the facility had continued its operations, ensuring critical logistical processes.
Attack Details and Condition of the Wounded
According to Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, Chairman of the Management Board of Ukrzaliznytsia, the strike was sudden, with no air threat detected by standard warning systems. As a result of the enemy attack, enterprise employees sustained injuries of varying severity. Three railway workers were hospitalized with severe injuries, though medics assure their lives are not currently in danger.
Scale of Damage and Aftermath of the Shelling
In addition to the three severely wounded employees, more than ten people sustained minor injuries and bruising. Emergency services and medical teams operated swiftly at the scene, providing all necessary assistance to the victims. Company representatives emphasized that information regarding the extent of destruction and the exact number of casualties continues to be verified.
Systematic Attacks on Railway Infrastructure
It is worth noting that this strike is part of a systematic campaign targeting the country's transport infrastructure. Previously, on September 23, the management of Ukrzaliznytsia officially urged citizens to strictly observe safety rules, stay away from railway facilities, and immediately take cover whenever an air raid alert is announced. Similar massive strikes were recorded in September against objects in Lozova, Kharkiv region, and at the Berestyn railway station.
