The command of the Black Sea Fleet of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has transferred its units and formations to a heightened combat readiness mode. This measure was taken amid growing fears of large-scale attacks and sabotage by Ukraine ahead of the anniversary of the landmark explosions on the Crimean Bridge, which occurred on October 8. Information about this was disseminated by the «ATES» partisan movement, which conducts reconnaissance directly on the temporarily occupied peninsula.

Strengthening Patrols and Personnel Training

According to operational data from the underground, the fleet command has sent strict orders to all subordinate military units. In particular, it is ordered to dramatically increase the intensity of patrolling the sea area and the coastal zone. Personnel have been ordered to conduct daily training sessions to repel sudden threats from the water and air, paying special attention to coordination in critical situations.

Coordination of Air Defense, Electronic Warfare, and Naval Aviation

A separate item in the directives of the Russian command is the task of practicing effective interaction between UAV operators, air defense crews, electronic warfare stations, and patrol boat crews. The military is trying to build a layered defense to protect key infrastructure facilities in Crimea.

According to military experts, Russian headquarters fear not so much a repeated frontal strike directly on the road and rail spans of the Crimean Bridge, but complex combined attacks. Warships at their bases, critical logistics routes, and vessels of the so-called «shadow fleet» involved in military and economic transport are in the high-risk zone.

Crimean Bridge Defense Measures and Fleet Losses

Recall that Russia has been taking unprecedented security measures around the transport crossing since the first incidents. Thus, as of June 2026, detailed Google Maps satellite images show that the Crimean Bridge is surrounded on all sides by massive protective engineering structures and booms. At the same time, the Black Sea Fleet continues to suffer heavy losses: according to official defense data, by the beginning of 2026, Russia had lost or suffered severe damage to about 30% of its original combat ship composition.

Situation in Occupied Crimea on the Eve of the Memorable Date

The situation on the peninsula remains extremely tense in everyday terms as well. Thus, just a few days before the anniversary, on October 2, 2026, explosions thundered in a number of areas of occupied Crimea, after which local authorities had to introduce emergency «targeted» power outages. Official occupation structures hurried to explain the power supply interruptions by the alleged threat of overloading the local energy system.
