Context: Series of Attacks on Rivne's Civilian Infrastructure

The attack on the Metro supermarket is not the first strike on Rivne's civilian infrastructure during the ongoing conflict. Previously, according to available data, the Russian military launched a missile strike on one of the city's large shopping centers, the consequences of which were detailed in separate reports. A separate incident involved the use of a jet-propelled unmanned aerial vehicle against a shopping center, resulting in injuries, and local residents were urged to close their windows due to danger. In addition, during shelling aimed at the central part of the city, the university building in downtown Rivne was damaged, with reports of wounded individuals as well.

What This Means for the City

Repeated strikes on commercial and public facilities highlight that Rivne's civilian infrastructure remains in the risk zone. Local authorities are coordinating the work of services and publishing operational statements, and city residents continue to receive recommendations on observing safety measures. The final picture of the consequences of the strike on Metro will become known after specialized services finish their work at the scene.
