On Tuesday, September 1, Russian occupiers struck a Nova Poshta terminal in Odesa Oblast. According to information reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by Oleksandr... (head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration) Oleg Kyper, the postal terminal building caught fire as a result of the attack. This is not the first hit on this facility: Kyper emphasized that the terminal "had previously sustained damage during enemy strikes."
Statement by the head of the RMA: "The enemy continues to strike civilian infrastructure"
In his address, Oleg Kyper noted that "the enemy continues to strike the civilian infrastructure of Odesa region." According to him, rescue services quickly extinguished the fire that broke out after the hit. At the time of the statement, all relevant services were working at the scene of the incident. The head of the RMA also reported that no one was injured as a result of this shelling.
Repeated attack on a facility declared lost
Notably, a day before the new strike — on August 31 — the Russians had already attacked the same Nova Poshta terminal in Odesa Oblast. After that shelling, a fire also broke out at the facility. Nova Poshta itself then stated that, as a result of the enemy attack, the innovative terminal had been destroyed and "is not subject to restoration." Thus, the September 1 strike hit a facility that was formally already considered lost, underscoring the systematic nature of Russian attacks on Ukraine's logistics infrastructure.
Scale of destruction according to the company's assessment
After the August 31 attack, Nova Poshta reported that a European-standard sorting line had been destroyed as a result of the hit. No company employees were injured on that day. The fact of the repeated strike on September 1 likely caused additional damage to the already destroyed building, however no specific data on new destruction was provided at the time of the publication of Kyper's statement.
Context: attack on a truck in Kharkiv Oblast
In the morning of August 31, on the same day as the strike on the Odesa terminal, a Russian drone attacked a Nova Poshta truck in the settlement of Bliznyuky in Kharkiv Oblast. As a result of the strike, the vehicle caught fire and the driver was injured. The incident demonstrates that Russian forces have in recent days been deliberately striking the logistical and transport assets of the largest Ukrainian delivery operator in different regions simultaneously.

As of the time of the head of the RMA's statement, the fire at the terminal site had been localized and extinguished. Emergency rescue, medical, and investigative services were working at the scene. No official information had been received at the time of publication on whether the facility would be subject to restoration or fully dismantled. Nova Poshta had already stated the impossibility of restoring the terminal after the August 31 attack, and the repeated hit on September 1 makes the prospects of resuming operations at this facility extremely unlikely.
