The Security Service of Ukraine has issued an official appeal to citizens, strongly urging them to completely refrain from recording and publishing the consequences of enemy missile and drone strikes on the global network. Any footage capturing direct hits on military targets, critical infrastructure elements, as well as the combat work of air defense forces, falls under a special ban. Such materials in the conditions of a full-scale war pose a direct threat to the national security of the state.
The Threat of Fire Adjustment and Criminal Prosecution
The Ukrainian special service explains in detail that seemingly harmless videos and photographs are actively used not only by enemy propaganda to create necessary information effects, but also by specialized experts of the Russian armed forces. Data obtained from open sources is used for detailed preparation and adjustment of subsequent air attacks. That is why the publication of such content under certain procedural circumstances is classified by law enforcement agencies as a grave criminal offense.
Regulatory Framework and Severe Imprisonment Terms
The agency reminds that for such illegal actions, strict liability is provided within the framework of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This norm criminalizes the unauthorized dissemination of information about the movement, travel, or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the transfer of any critical information to the aggressor state. The maximum sanction under this article is severely punished by imprisonment for up to 12 years, and the operational units of the special service regularly identify violators.
