The Security Service of Ukraine has warned about the preparation of a large-scale psychological operation (PSYOPS) that Russian occupation forces plan to carry out in the temporarily captured city of Oleshky, Kherson region. According to the Ukrainian special service, the enemy is preparing a series of staged interviews with local residents to discredit the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Details of the Occupiers' Special Operation
According to operational intelligence, Russian Armed Forces personnel received a direct order to film staged videos. In these clips, intimidated or misled citizens are supposed to accuse the Ukrainian military while expressing 'gratitude' to the Russian invaders. The occupiers have scheduled the rollout of this dirty information campaign for October through early November.
Goals and Context of Hostile Propaganda
The SBU emphasizes that such actions by the aggressor are driven by a complete lack of real success on the battlefield. Trying to compensate for failures on the frontline, Russian propaganda aims to undermine the psycho-emotional state of Ukrainian society and sow panic. Experts note that such PSYOPS are aimed at internal destabilization and fracturing trust between the army and the people.
Humanitarian Crisis in Oleshky
This provocation unfolds against the backdrop of a severe humanitarian crisis in Oleshky. Earlier, the Ukrainian military delivered about 4 tons of food, medicines, and children's kits to the occupied city for the second time. Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets repeatedly stated that due to a critical shortage of food, water, and medicine, people are forced to leave the city on foot or by bicycle, while official evacuation remains blocked.
