In the first episode of the 14th season of the popular vocal show Holos Krayiny, well-known Ukrainian sound engineer Serhiy Tyagniryadno took the stage. His unexpected and powerful performance made all four star coaches turn their chairs, while the audience in the hall gave the musician a standing ovation.

Unusual repertoire choice and rock interpretation of Puccini

For the blind auditions stage, the 45-year-old Kyiv native chose the famous opera aria Nessun dorma from Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot. However, the artist presented it in his own original interpretation, combining classical opera singing with powerful rock vocal elements. An additional difficulty of the performance was that the participant not only performed a complex vocal composition but also accompanied himself on the piano.

Such a bold combination of styles and high level of skill caught the attention of all project judges—Tina Karol, Natalia Mohylevska, MONATIK, and Artem Pivovarov. According to Serhiy himself, he initially doubted how the mentors would perceive such an unconventional performance style, but the result exceeded all his expectations.

Star mentors battle for the talented contestant

After the performance concluded, a real battle unfolded between the coaches for the right to work with the performer. Each of the mentors tried to convince Serhiy to join their team, offering various prospects for further creativity. Artem Pivovarov expressed interest in the sound engineer's original material and offered joint musical cooperation outside the television show.

In turn, Natalia Mohylevska invited the talented musician to take part in her large-scale creative project closely related to orchestral sound. Despite the tempting offers from his colleagues on stage, Serhiy Tyagniryadno made a balanced decision to continue his journey on Holos Krayiny in Tina Karol's team.

Years of backstage experience and transition to the big stage

Before his triumphant appearance on the television project, Serhiy Tyagniryadno had successfully worked in the music industry for many years, but mostly behind the scenes. He owns his own professional recording studio, where he has collaborated with famous Ukrainian artists, including Oleh Skrypka, Arsen Mirzoyan, and Tonya Matvienko. After the start of the full-scale invasion, the musician also founded his own rock band.

According to the participant, he had never previously participated in such vocal projects and decided to try his hand in a new role. From participating in Holos Krayiny, the sound engineer expects to gain new creative opportunities, useful experience, and fruitful cooperation with other talented musicians.

Significance of the successful debut for the musician's career

Serhiy Tyagniryadno's successful entry onto the country's main vocal stage demonstrates an important trend of blurring the lines between backstage work and public performing mastery. This bright debut not only drew widespread attention to the professional skills of sound engineers but also opened a new chapter in the Ukrainian music industry. Ahead, the participants face new stages of competition, where the unique synthesis of opera and rock can become one of the most memorable phenomena of the current season.
