Sunny day and night cold: forecasters warn Ukrainians of sharp temperature fluctuations on August 14

On August 14, 2026, Ukraine will be under the influence of a powerful anticyclone, which will bring stable dry weather to the country. Forecasters predict that the sky will be clear in all regions of the country, and precipitation is completely ruled out. However, despite the sunny day, residents of the country should be prepared for a sharp temperature drop at night, when the air will cool down significantly.

The influence of the anticyclone on the weather in Ukraine

According to leading meteorologist Natalia Didenko, cited by RBC-Ukraine, the current meteorological situation is caused by the activity of an anticyclone covering almost the entire territory of Europe. It is this atmospheric front that guarantees the absence of rain and fog. "Therefore, tomorrow, August 14, dry sunny weather is expected in all regions of Ukraine. Even fog is not visible in the forecast, except perhaps some river mists," the specialist notes.

Temperature regime: from heat in Zakarpattia to coolness in the north

Daytime temperatures will be comfortable for most regions, ranging from +20 to +25 degrees Celsius. The exception will be the Zakarpattia region, where under the influence of southern air masses, the temperature will rise to +28...+31 degrees. In Kyiv, about +24 degrees is expected with a complete absence of precipitation.

However, with the onset of night, the situation will change radically. Forecasters warn that the night temperature will drop to +12...+17 degrees. In the northern and western regions of the country, the cooling will be felt even more acutely: in some areas, the thermometer may drop to +9...+11 degrees. Experts recommend preparing warm clothes in advance, as the night coolness may be unexpected for those used to summer heat.

Despite the night cooling on August 14, forecasters do not rule out the return of high temperatures in the near future. Already on August 16 and 17, Ukraine will be covered by a wave of heat again. However, according to forecasts, this period will not be long, and soon the weather will change again. It was previously reported that starting Monday, heat will resume in Kyiv, and the temperature will rise sharply to +28 degrees.
