The process of changing the government has officially begun in the Ukrainian parliament. The Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on issues of state power organization supported the resignation statement of Yulia Sviridenko from the position of Prime Minister. This became known during the meeting, as reported by People's Deputy Alexander Kachura.

According to information received by RBK-Ukraine, a proposal for the dismissal of the current head of the government has already been submitted for consideration by the parliament. Deputy Kachura also published a draft resolution confirming the actual start of the procedure for changing power in the Cabinet of Ministers.

Zelenskyy's Decision and Sviridenko's New Role

The reason for the personnel changes was a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Yulia Sviridenko, which took place on Sunday, July 12. Following the meeting, the head of state announced the decision to update the composition of the Cabinet of Ministers. Notably, the resignation does not mean the politician's complete departure from public service: the President offered Sviridenko a new position.

Yulia Sviridenko herself confirmed the information about leaving the post of Prime Minister, stating her readiness to continue working in a new place. The official name of the new position has not yet been disclosed, however, rumors are already circulating in the parliament that she may become the Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA.

Who Will Take the Prime Minister's Seat?

It is expected that the post of head of the government will be taken by Serhiy Kretsky, known as the head of the company "Naftogaz". President Zelenskyy also held a meeting with him on Sunday, July 12. Kretsky's arrival at the top promises a certain "reboot" for the entire Cabinet of Ministers.

Personnel Changes in Ministries

Along with the change of Prime Minister, rotation will begin on other key posts in the government. Although there are no official lists of dismissals yet, RBK-Ukraine sources name those who may leave their positions:

  • Aleksandr Kuleba;
  • Oksen Lesovoy;
  • Natalia Kalmykova.

Separately, the fate of the Minister of Defense, Mykhailo Fedorov, is being discussed. It is not yet clear whether he will retain his post, but among the possible candidates for this position is the current head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko.
