Notoriously disgraced Ukrainian singer Taisiya Povaliy, who relocated to Russia and openly supported its full-scale invasion, has sparked renewed outrage with her recent performance. Taking the stage in Russia, she once again pledged loyalty to the aggressor state and made provocative statements regarding the future of Ukrainians, framing the ongoing conflict with twisted narrative.

Rhetoric of Reconciliation and Performing Ukrainian Classics

According to the singer, Ukrainians will allegedly "come to make peace" with Russians soon, ignoring the heavy toll of Russia's unprovoked aggression. Following her speech, Povaliy performed the traditional Ukrainian song "Pisnya pro rushnyk" alongside pro-Kremlin compositions, utilizing her Ukrainian heritage for Russian propaganda purposes while living in exile.

Sanctions and Criminal Charges in Ukraine

It should be noted that Ukrainian authorities have taken decisive measures against the singer. In March 2024, the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine seized her assets, including real estate and vehicles. Later, in September 2024, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) officially served her notice of suspicion for collaboration and public calls for war.
