Fierce fighting is unfolding on the Dobropillya axis. According to the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS), Russian occupiers launched one of the largest attempts at a tank breakthrough in recent times. However, the enemy's plans failed: border guards of the 'Phoenix' unit, in coordination with adjacent units, foiled the assault.

Details of the battle and enemy losses

According to the report, Ukrainian fighters not only halted the offensive but also inflicted significant damage on the enemy. During the battle, the following were destroyed:

  • 9 tanks;
  • 2 armored vehicles;
  • 3 BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers.

In addition to the equipment, several dozen Russian servicemen were eliminated. In the press release, the border guards emphasized that all of the enemy's armored 'glory' was left burning among the fields and plantations of the Donbas.

Context: data on Russian army losses

Events on the Dobropillya axis confirm the high intensity of combat operations in the region. Earlier, US Secretary of State Mark Rubio voiced alarming figures: according to him, the Russian army loses more than 5–6 thousand soldiers weekly in the war against Ukraine.

Rubio also noted that this conflict could become unique in history: the number of killed in action, according to his estimates, exceeds the number of wounded. Such data indicates an extremely high level of risk and intensity of combat operations on the front.
