Ukraine is expecting a sharp change in weather. On Tuesday, July 28, a cold atmospheric front will sweep across the country, bringing thunderstorms, gusty winds, and a noticeable drop in temperature. However, meteorologists warn that this is a temporary phenomenon, and the heat will return by early August.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing data from synoptician Natalka Didenko.
Geography of precipitation and wind
According to the specialist's forecast, thunderstorms will cover the western, northern, central, and southern regions during the night of July 28 and in the morning hours. The eastern regions will remain largely unaffected by the main mass of precipitation.
One of the key characteristics of the weather on this day will be a strong northwesterly wind, which will enhance the feeling of coolness and may affect transportation.
Temperature background
After the front passes, thermometers will show a significant drop in readings. During the daytime, the temperature across most of the country will be +20...+24 degrees. It will be slightly warmer in the south and southeast — from +25 to +28 degrees.
In Kyiv, rain with thunderstorms is expected during the night and morning of Tuesday. Daytime precipitation is unlikely, and the temperature in the capital will drop to approximately +22 degrees, providing noticeable relief after the recent heat.
Warnings for the population
Despite the rain, the synoptician urges citizens to exercise special caution. A high risk of fires remains, so it is strictly recommended not to:
- Throw burning cigarette butts on the ground;
- Burn dry grass;
- Light bonfires in nature.
Experts also remind people about swimming safety. In hot weather, a sharp temperature difference between a heated body and cool water can put a serious strain on the body. It is recommended to enter the water gradually and choose morning or evening hours for swimming, when the temperature contrast is minimal.
