US President Donald Trump has officially announced a mechanism to compensate for damage inflicted on commercial ships as a result of attacks carried out by Iran. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a post on the Truth Social network.

Compensation from Iranian Assets

According to the American leader, all losses related to attacks on ships and their cargo will be covered by Iranian financial resources currently under the control of the United States. Trump emphasized that the decision is fair and equitable, despite potential significant losses.

"Damage caused to ships, cargo, or anything related to them will be paid for with Iranian funds held at the disposal and under the control of the United States. The damage may be substantial, but nonetheless, this is a fair and equitable decision," the White House chief wrote.

Continuation of Military Operations

It is worth noting that Trump's statement was made against the backdrop of continuing escalation of tensions in the region. On the night of the current day, the US launched another series of strikes on targets in Iran. This is already the 13th night in a row when American forces have launched retaliatory attacks.

The situation remains tense, and further steps by both sides could significantly affect the geopolitical situation in the world.
