At the Farnborough International Airshow in the UK, a significant document was signed, marking a new stage in the development of Ukraine's defense industry. Ukrainian company Airlogix and Czech giant PBS Group signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at localizing the production of turbine engines on Ukrainian territory.

According to information from the Airlogix press service received by RBC-Ukraine, the key goal of the partnership is to create a powerful production base for power units that will be integrated into unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) used by the country's defense forces.

Phased implementation of the project

The parties agreed to implement the project in several stages. Currently, the companies are working on finalizing the licensing agreement, which will legally solidify their partnership. The action plan provides for:

  • Establishment of an engine assembly production facility on Ukrainian territory.
  • Opening of a certified service center for the maintenance of power units.
  • Transition to deeper localization of production processes in the future.

Representatives of Airlogix emphasize that such a strategy will ensure uninterrupted supply of engines for new generations of drones, minimizing the risks of logistical disruptions.

Bilateral cooperation

At the Czech company PBS Group, they confirmed the fact of the agreements and revealed additional details of the cooperation. In addition to organizing production in Ukraine, Airlogix drones equipped with PBS engines will also be produced on the territory of the Czech Republic. Initially, this product will be aimed at meeting the needs of the Ukrainian market.

Experts at PBS Group note that this partnership combines the Czech company's many years of experience in the development and production of aviation engines with the dynamic development of the Ukrainian unmanned systems industry. Joint efforts should lead to the creation of competitive and reliable solutions for modern warfare.

Exhibition context

The signing of the memorandum became one of the notable events at the Farnborough International Airshow. Earlier during this same exhibition, the Ukrainian side presented a novelty — the "February" strike drone, which was modified into a missile carrier. Now, with the establishment of engine production, Ukrainian developers are gaining access to critically important components for further scaling of their projects.
