A new system for extending mobilization deferments has come into force in Ukraine. Now, more than 90% of active deferments will be extended automatically, without the need for a personal visit to government authorities or submitting additional applications. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the Ministry of Defense.
How automatic extension works
The essence of the new procedure is simple: if the legal ground for the deferment remains valid and is confirmed by data in state registries, the deferment term is updated automatically by the system. The extension lasts until the mobilization period established by the President's Decree expires, but no longer than the ground for the deferment itself remains valid.
This mechanism works regardless of how the citizen originally obtained the deferment — via the "Rezerv+" mobile app or personally at a Center for Administrative Services (TSNAP).
The role of the "Rezerv+" app and registries
It is important to understand that the "Rezerv+" app itself is not a tool for extension. It serves only as an interface displaying current information from the state "Oberyh" registry. Users will receive a corresponding notification in the app, and the current end date of the deferment can be viewed in the extended data of the electronic military registration document.
In some cases, the document may not specify a specific date but rather the phrase "until the end of mobilization." This means the deferment is valid until the end of the term determined by the decree. If mobilization is extended and the ground for the deferment remains, the term will be updated automatically.
What to do if the extension did not occur
Sometimes the automatic update does not trigger. Most often, this is due to missing information in state registries required to confirm the ground for deferment. This does not mean the citizen has lost their right to a deferment. In most cases, it is sufficient to update the data in the relevant registries.
For successful automatic extension, it is critical that data in state databases is current and entered without errors. If the system did not extend the deferment automatically, the citizen must submit documents to any convenient TSNAP.
Key changes in the procedure
The situation regarding deferment registration has undergone significant changes. Citizens no longer submit applications for deferment registration or extension to Territorial Recruitment and Mobilization Centers (TRMCs). All requests are accepted exclusively through TSNAPs or the "Rezerv+" app.
It is also important to distinguish between two different services: automatic extension of an existing deferment and online registration of a new deferment. Automatic extensions apply to deferments under 22 categories, whereas a new deferment can be registered directly in the "Rezerv+" app for only 11 categories.
