The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has announced the launch of a large-scale platform Avengers Labs — a unique ecosystem for training artificial intelligence models intended for defense purposes. The initiative, implemented by the Center for Innovation and Development of Defense Technologies (DELTA), marks a transition to a new phase of technological warfare, where the key role is played not only by the quantity of weaponry but also by the quality of data on which algorithms are trained. The platform provides Ukrainian and international defense companies with access to a carefully selected database that cannot be assembled privately without state involvement.
Database of 5 Million Combat Images
At the core of the project lies a colossal array of information: more than 5 million labeled images collected directly from the battlefield. According to the Ministry of Defense, this data comes from the DELTA combat management system and is constantly being replenished. The library contains detailed images of Russian military equipment: from tanks and artillery systems to infantry and aerial targets, including "Shahed" drones and reconnaissance UAVs. Such a volume of structured information allows for the creation of neural networks capable of instantly recognizing targets with high accuracy, which is critical for modern combat operations.
UAV Autonomy and Real-Time Analysis
The main goal of Avengers Labs is to accelerate the development of AI-based solutions for unmanned aerial vehicles. The system deployed on the battlefield already analyzes more than 100,000 video streams from drones monthly. According to official data, algorithms detect about 70% of enemy targets in real-time, regardless of the time of day. Trained models allow drones to operate autonomously: they can independently adjust their trajectory after an operator marks a target and search for objects in a designated zone, minimizing human involvement in critical moments of an attack.
International Cooperation and Data Protection
Access to the platform is provided not only to Ukrainian developers but also to enterprises from partner countries that have passed a strict security check. The first licensing agreements have already been signed by Ukrainian defense companies. The partner validation process is aimed at preventing the leakage of sensitive data on tactics and technologies to the enemy. This opens the way for the creation of a unified technological front, where Western and Ukrainian engineers jointly refine algorithms based on real combat experience.
Integration into the DELTA and Brave1 Ecosystem
Avengers Labs becomes the third key element in Ukraine's defense technology ecosystem, alongside the Brave1 cluster (financing and standardization) and the "Testing in Ukraine" initiative (combat verification). Integration with the DELTA system, through which more than 75,000 video streams are transmitted daily, allows for the automatic analysis of data streams to detect enemy equipment. This creates a closed loop: data from the front is used to train AI, which in turn increases the effectiveness of data collection and strike delivery.
