The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has implemented major personnel changes in the highest echelons of power, dismissing Ihor Kuzin from his positions as Deputy Minister of Health and Chief State Sanitary Doctor. The respective decision was made during a government meeting and announced by the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk. Oleksandr Chepurnyi has been appointed as the new Chief Sanitary Doctor of the country and will combine this role with his duties as Deputy Health Minister.

New Appointments within the Ministry of Health

Ihor Kuzin had served as the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine since June 2021, overseeing key areas of anti-epidemic security and the reform of the sanitary and epidemiological service. Oleksandr Chepurnyi, who succeeds him, has officially assumed leadership over this sector amid ongoing public health challenges. The government expects the new head to focus on strengthening preventive measures and coordinating regional medical services.

Reshuffles in Educational and Social Agencies

In addition to changes within the Ministry of Health leadership, the government approved several other personnel decisions across central executive bodies. Specifically, Ivan Yuriichuk was dismissed from his position at the State Service of Education Quality of Ukraine and subsequently appointed as Deputy Minister of Education and Science. Simultaneously, Ihor Ilchenko left the National Social Service Agency while being immediately appointed as the head of the same agency.

Regional Appointments and Management Context

The personnel updates also impacted the regional governance system. The government officially approved the appointment of Andrii Rusyn as Deputy Head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration. These rotations occur against the backdrop of regular government changes aimed at increasing the operational efficiency of state institutions at both central and local levels.

Significance of Personnel Changes for the State System

The reshuffles carried out by the Cabinet of Ministers reflect the current strategy of rotating management personnel across key ministries and agencies. Renewing leadership within the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Science is intended to provide an additional impetus for implementing relevant state programs. The future steps of the new heads will demonstrate how effectively the agencies can manage existing operational and strategic tasks.
