The milestone 60th season of Ukrainian Fashion Week will take place in Kyiv from March 11 to 14, 2027. The organizers decided to postpone the autumn-winter 2027/2028 collection shows from the usual February dates due to the complex situation in Ukraine's energy system caused by systematic shelling.
New Schedule and Energy Infrastructure Challenges
Traditionally, the autumn-winter shows of Ukrainian Fashion Week are held in early February. However, regular attacks on energy facilities significantly complicate production processes and the work of designer teams, who require stable power supply to create garments and prepare runway spaces. Moving the event to March aims to give domestic brands additional time for preparation.
Head of Ukrainian Fashion Week Yelyzaveta Ushcheka emphasized that it is fundamentally important for the organizers to provide teams with comfortable working conditions. The decision was made well in advance, taking into account current realities in which the Ukrainian fashion industry has to operate. The main goal of the project remains unchanged: preserving the continuity of seasons and supporting designers.
Adaptation Precedents and Historical Context
Such schedule adjustments are not new to UFW. In the current season, the autumn-winter 2026/2027 shows were also shifted from early February to March 12–15 due to the difficult technical situation in the Ukrainian capital. The leadership of Fashion Week successfully adapts work processes to external wartime challenges.
The upcoming March season will be special for the industry. Ukrainian Fashion Week was founded in 1997, and in 2027 the project will celebrate its 30th anniversary. Over three decades of existence, the team has never missed a season, demonstrating flexibility and continuity of traditions despite any crises.
Participation Terms and Next Steps
Registration of domestic and foreign brands for participation in the new FW27-28 season is already open and will run until November 22. Those wishing to present their works can submit an official application via the special registration form provided by the organizing committee.
The organizers continue working on preparing anniversary events, aiming to emphasize the resilience of Ukrainian fashion on the international arena. Timely scheduling helps minimize risks associated with potential infrastructure disruptions and guarantees a high level of show organization.
