The Defense Forces of Ukraine have carried out a large-scale series of successful strikes against strategically important military targets of the Russian army, including modern air defense systems, drone storage bases, and logistics centers. According to an official statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the operation covered several key areas at once, significantly undermining the combat capability of the occupying forces on the frontline and in border regions.
Geography of Targeted Sites and Elimination of Air Defense
One of the most significant achievements of the Ukrainian military was the strike on the Pantsir-S2 anti-aircraft missile and gun system near the settlement of Seltso in Russia's Bryansk Oblast. This system is designed to protect strategic objects from air attacks, but it became a target itself. In addition, in Vinohradivka, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, a UAV control point and a deployment site for an enemy drone unit were hit by a precision strike, severely disrupting their tactical reconnaissance.
Strikes on Drone Infrastructure and Ammunition Depots
A separate focus of the operation was striking the infrastructure supporting unmanned aviation. In Donetsk, the Defense Forces hit a large storage, preparation, and direct launch site for strike UAVs. The General Staff emphasized that the systemic destruction of such objects aims to reduce the intensity of air attacks against Ukraine. Ammunition depots were also successfully hit in Makiivka and Ustynivka, while an enemy logistics supply depot was eliminated in Nikolskoye.
Logistics Hubs and General Attrition Strategy
Aside from firing positions and depots, Ukrainian forces struck a repair unit of the Russian troops in occupied Mariupol, disrupting the schedule for restoring armored vehicles. All the aforementioned strikes were recorded between September 27 and September 28, 2026. This campaign continues a recent series of successful attacks on the Russian military-industrial complex, including strikes on the Iskra plant in Ulyanovsk and synthetic rubber enterprises producing components for missiles.

While the Ukrainian General Staff and specialized departments report successful precision strikes on military targets and logistical supply depots, Russian regional sources and public channels traditionally offer a different interpretation of events. In particular, a number of Russian media outlets and Telegram channels either completely remain silent about direct hits on strategic air defense systems and depots, or present them as supposedly the 'successful work of air defense assets' that repelled all attacks with minimal consequences on the ground. Nevertheless, an analysis of satellite data and on-the-ground reports confirms massive fires and detonation at the targeted facilities.
