Against the backdrop of escalating air threats, the Ukrainian defense industry is demonstrating its ability to adapt quickly. SkyFall presented a new development at the international airshow in Farnborough, UK — the high-speed interceptor drone P1-SUN Jetkiller. This specialized machine is designed to effectively destroy Russian Shahed attack drones equipped with jet engines.
Response to the Threat of Jet Drones
The situation on the air front requires new solutions. Russia is increasingly using modified versions of attack unmanned aerial vehicles, referred to as "Geran" in Russia. The key difference in these new machines is the presence of jet engines, allowing them to reach speeds of up to 500 km/h. This drastically reduces the time available for target detection and decision-making for interception by standard air defense systems.
To counter this threat, SkyFall engineers developed a specialized modification, the P1-SUN Jetkiller. The new interceptor can reach speeds of up to 370 km/h, which is 60 km/h faster than the previous version of the base model (310 km/h). This increase in performance is critical for successfully closing in on and destroying high-speed targets.
Testing and Combat Experience
Development of the new interceptor was carried out on a tight schedule — work on the project began just three months ago. Nevertheless, the drone has already undergone testing in real combat conditions. According to available data, the P1-SUN Jetkiller has successfully destroyed more than a dozen jet-powered "Shaheds," confirming its effectiveness in practice.
The success of the new model builds on the experience of the base version. Since its launch in November 2025, the standard P1-SUN drone has destroyed more than 5,500 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles. The company's production capacity allows for the release of up to 50,000 interceptors per month, ensuring the ability to scale production to meet current front-line needs.
Context of the Farnborough Airshow
The presentation of the Ukrainian development took place within the framework of the Farnborough Airshow, where the topic of combating mass attacks by cheap drones became one of the central themes. Ukrainian solutions did not remain in the shadows: at the exhibition, the European concern MBDA and the American corporation Lockheed Martin also presented their own interception systems.
This event highlights the global interest in counter-drone technologies. Earlier, in June, SkyFall had already demonstrated the P1-SUN Long drone, equipped with artificial intelligence for automatic target acquisition and featuring an extended range. The appearance of the Jetkiller model testifies to the continuous development of the interceptor lineup to meet changing tactical tasks.
