On Thursday, July 23, the weather in Ukraine will become extremely unstable. Meteorologists are warning of the approach of powerful atmospheric fronts that will bring heavy rains, thunderstorms, and a sharp increase in wind speed across the country. The most active phase of stormy phenomena is expected in the southern regions.

Storm warnings for the south

According to data from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center (UGMC), the main impact of the storm will be felt in the southern part of the country. Moderate rain is forecasted in these regions; however, the situation will be more critical in the Odesa region and Crimea. Significant precipitation accompanied by thunderstorms and wind gusts reaching 15–20 m/s are expected there.

Temperature regime and precipitation

Despite the thunderstorm activity, on Thursday afternoon, the air temperature over most of the territory will remain in the range of 20 to 26 °C. The exception will be the east of the country, where the thermometer may rise to 29 °C on this day.

Short-term rains are also possible in the western regions during the day, while precipitation may be absent in the rest of the territory.

Weather conditions on Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25, will remain changeable. At night, precipitation will cease in most regions. However, during the day, meteorologists forecast the resumption of rain and thunderstorms in most areas.

The temperature background will stabilize during these days: at night, the air will warm up to 10–17 °C, and during the day — to 20–26 °C.
