The last Tuesday of October, the 29th, has brought a noticeable cooling and rainy weather to Ukraine, typical of deep autumn. According to current data from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, atmospheric processes today are forming a contrasting temperature picture depending on the region, accompanied by strengthening winds and high humidity.
Regional precipitation features and temperature background
The most intense precipitation is expected in the southern part of the country, as well as in most central and northern regions, where moderate rains are forecast. In the rest of the territory of Ukraine, no significant precipitation is expected. Particular attention should be paid to the road situation in the western regions, as well as in the Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia regions — in the morning hours, fog is observed here, limiting visibility.
The temperature regime today is unevenly distributed. In most regions, thermometers will show from +7 to +12 degrees Celsius during the daytime. At the same time, in the Transcarpathian region, as well as in the south and east of the country, thanks to a warmer air flow, the air will warm up to a comfortable +12…+17 degrees.
Weather conditions in the capital region
In Kyiv and the Kyiv region on October 29, overcast weather with clearings has set in. Residents of the capital should prepare for precipitation, as rain is forecast throughout the day. East and northeast winds are blowing at speeds of 7–12 m/s. In the eastern and southeastern regions of the country, meteorologists also warn of wind gusts of up to 15–20 m/s, which requires increased caution.
Prospects for the transition to pre-winter
The synoptic situation on October 29 is a harbinger of further seasonal cooling. According to preliminary forecasts, the first decade of November in Ukraine will be marked by a transition to a full-fledged "pre-winter" period. Average temperatures during November are expected to be in the range of +1 to +7 degrees, which indicates the gradual end of the warm period of autumn and the preparation of natural systems for the winter season.
