Developers of the popular messaging app WhatsApp have begun testing one of the most highly anticipated features—scheduled message sending. A tool that has long been a standard for Telegram users is now being integrated into the Meta ecosystem. Details of this update were discovered by specialists in the WhatsApp beta for Android (version 2.26.8.11), confirming that development is in full swing.

Scheduling Mechanics and Features

The process of using the new feature is intuitive: the user simply needs to press and hold the send button to trigger a special dialog window. The system allows for flexible adjustment of the date and exact time for content delivery. In the current implementation, scheduling windows range from 10 minutes to two weeks in advance. Crucially, the functionality covers a wide spectrum of formats: from simple text messages and links to media files, including photos and videos.

Autonomy and Communication Security

One of the key advantages of the updated mechanism will be its autonomy. Developers have implemented an algorithm that ensures scheduled messages are delivered to the recipient even if the sender's smartphone is in offline mode or disconnected from the network when the timer triggers. Security remains a priority: all scheduled materials are protected by end-to-end encryption, completely eliminating the possibility of third-party data interception.

Conflicting Data

Despite general enthusiasm, disputes have arisen within the beta-tester community regarding the availability of this feature for group chats. While the official description indicates support for both personal chats and group conversations, some users have reported failures when attempting to schedule messages in large groups with more than 200 participants. Meta has not yet provided official comments regarding these technical limitations, leaving the matter open.

Managing Scheduled Content

For navigation convenience, a dedicated menu section will appear in the app, where users can manage their list of scheduled messages. The interface will allow users not only to view pending materials but also to promptly edit their content or delivery time, as well as delete scheduled entries entirely before they are sent. In the coming weeks, a wider rollout to more beta participants is expected, followed by a full global release for all platform users.
