Ukrainian military forces have carried out an unprecedented operation, combining maritime and ground robotics for the first time in world practice to strike occupied territory. Fighters from the 123rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade (123rd SB TDO) successfully delivered and detonated a ground robotic complex on the shore of the Kinburn Spit in the Mykolaiv region, which is controlled by the enemy.

New Format of Combat Operations

The operation was conducted using a controlled maritime platform — an unmanned watercraft that delivered the ground robot to a dangerous section of the coastline. According to an official statement from the brigade, this marks the first known combat mission of this format in the world.

"The ground robotic complex was delivered to the enemy shore using an unmanned maritime platform, detonated on the occupied land of our native region, and used to fulfill a combat mission," the unit emphasized.

Risk Shifted to Machines

The brigade command noted that only recently such a mission seemed like a matter of the future. Now it has become a reality, demonstrating the evolution of combat tactics. The key advantage of the new approach is the minimization of risk for personnel. Instead of a human, equipment is sent into the high-risk zone.

The operation was conducted under the leadership of the commander of the 123rd SB TDO, Colonel Oleg Makukha, and the commander of the brigade's 1st Unmanned Systems Battalion, Major Denys Hypyk. The unmanned raft allowed them to cross the water and land the robot on a section where every meter of the shore is dangerous for a live soldier.

Results and Context

The brigade emphasized that this is not a technical toy, but a fundamentally new method of warfare. The use of autonomous systems allows strikes to be delivered in hard-to-reach areas without endangering the lives of soldiers.

Recall that in the last 24 hours, Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces destroyed and damaged 1,725 units of enemy equipment and personnel. Ukrainian defenders continue to inflict significant losses on occupation forces daily.

Meanwhile, NASA satellites have detected new fire hotspots in the Pridniprovia — in territories under enemy control. This data confirms active combat activity in the region and possible consequences of strikes on military facilities.
