Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a strategic meeting with the military command focused on the use of long-range weapons against Russia. During the meeting, plans for further operations were coordinated, and the list of priority targets to be struck in order to exert maximum pressure on the enemy was updated.

The "Strategic Depth" Strategy

According to the head of state, the plan for Ukrainian long-range strikes is being executed strictly in accordance with established priorities. Zelenskyy noted that the current range of strikes has already exceeded 3,000 kilometers, and Kyiv continues to expand capabilities for operations at even greater distances.

The President emphasized that what was long considered an advantage for Russia — the strategic depth of its rear — has today become a serious problem for the Russian leadership. The bulk of Russian air defense systems are concentrated around Moscow, government residences, the Crimean Bridge, and St. Petersburg, leaving other regions vulnerable.

Strikes deep into the territory: The Urals and Siberia

During the meeting, it was confirmed that Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are already reaching targets in the Ural region, Siberia, and other lands far from the Russian capital. Statistics show the scale of the campaign: only in the current year, since the implementation of the plan began, more than a thousand fire missions have been completed.

The targets of the strikes have been critically important infrastructure objects:

  • Oil facilities and oil refineries;
  • Critical military production sites;
  • Systemically important nodes of Russian logistics.

As noted in Kyiv, mass attacks overload the Russian air defense system, while the greatest political damage to the Kremlin is caused by strikes directly on Moscow and occupied Crimea. It was previously reported that Ukrainian strikes have already paralyzed about 20% of Russia's oil refining capacity.

The goal — forcing diplomacy

Zelenskyy named the creation of conditions for real diplomacy as the main task of long-range pressure. The President stated that Ukraine has already conveyed all necessary proposals to the Russian political leadership for ending the war with a "dignified peace".

"The main goal is for our long-range pressure to push Russia even more towards diplomacy due to the complication of the production of weapon components, oil and other economic losses, and bringing this war back to its home port," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Future plans: up to 10,000 kilometers

During the discussion, ambitious plans for the development of the arsenal were also voiced. In the next two years, the range of Ukrainian drones is expected to increase from the current 3,000 to 10,000 kilometers. Already this year, the Defense Forces will have at their disposal vehicles with a strike range of 4,000 kilometers.

Recall that in early July, Zelenskyy stated that there is not a single oil refinery left in Russia that has not become a target of Ukrainian weapons. At that time, drones reached Omsk in Siberia, striking an oil refinery at a distance of almost 2,500 kilometers from the border.
