AI Peered 2,900 km Into Earth's Interior: Six Hidden Anomalous Bands Discovered at the Core–Mantle Boundary
Using deep learning, scientists analyzed more than 2 million seismic records from 1990–2024 and discovered six anomalous bands at Earth's core–mantle boundary, at a depth of 2,900 km. The results were published in Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth.
