Cardiologist-transplantologist Serhiy Mokhnatyi told RBC-Ukraine about patients who waited up to 11 years for a donor heart, and about two transplants performed in three days. In Ukraine, only 22 hearts have been transplanted into children.

Organ transplantation in Ukraine has become systematic: 327 transplants were performed in the first half of the year. Cardiac surgeon Serhiy Mokhatyi explained how hearts are allocated, why the waiting list cannot be bypassed, and how many people work on a single operation.
