#Plasma

A 500,000 km solar prominence has been recorded. According to IKI RAS, a direct hit on Earth is unlikely, but a glancing blow could cause magnetic storms and bright auroras in mid-latitudes.

Researchers at Columbia University and Adolfo Ibáñez University, having revised Einstein's equations, showed that gravitational fields can rupture and reconnect, releasing energy via a mechanism analogous to plasma. The work is published in Physical Review D.
