In Ivano-Frankivsk, water levels in the rivers feeding the city's water intakes have dropped due to drought. Mayor Ruslan Marcynkiv has urged residents to conserve water: the peak of the shortage is expected in late September.

In late August 2026, the Dnister Reservoir set an anti-record for inflow over its 41 years of operation, while in Kalush water shut-off schedules may be introduced due to the drying up of the Chechvir reservoir.
