Against the backdrop of price hikes on core packages, YouTube has launched the budget Premium Lite plan in Ukraine: ad-free viewing, background playback, and offline mode from 99 hryvnia per month, with a free trial.

At the request of Ukrainian authorities, YouTube blocked within the territory of Ukraine three channels of the animated series 'Masha and the Bear' in Russian, Ukrainian, and English. The measure was a consequence of NSDC sanctions against the creators of the series.

YouTube is sending Ukrainian users notifications about a significant price increase for Premium across all tariff categories. Simultaneously, the platform is preparing to launch a budget Premium Lite plan without YouTube Music and offline mode, with partial retention of ads.

From August 24, 2026, YouTube introduces a unified view-counting standard for all formats: a video counts from the first frame. Monetization will remain unchanged, but terminology in the partner program will change.
